- 3D Printing Additive Manufacturing
Ultraviolet (UV) lasers play an extremely important role in 3D printing. In traditional 3D printing techniques, such as fused deposition modeling (FDM) or stereo-lithography (SLA), high-power UV lasers are used to selectively solidify the resin or photo-polymer materials layer by layer to create 3D objects. From a variety of plastics to metals, ceramics and rubber, a major advantage of Maiman UV laser 3D printing is its ability to produce highly detailed and precise parts. The small wavelength of UV allows very fine details to be solidified and the UV light can be focused to a very small sized spot, which allows finer details and more complex geometries to be printed.
